Not every translation decision is guided by logic
─ emotions also play a part
For decades translation process research has aimed at describing the cognitive mechanisms — e.g., attention, memory, concentration — involved in the translation and interpreting process. But scarce research has been conducted so far on the role of emotions in guiding translation processes. In this talk, I will summarize the main findings on the role of emotions, explaining how they may foster or hinder translation processes.
