Zhi Qiang Du is a PhD student and a member of the MC2 Lab at University of Bologna. He is co-supervised by Prof Ricardo Muñoz Martín (University of Bologna) and Prof Victoria Lai Cheng LEI (Department of English, University of Macau). He holds a MA in Translation and Interpreting at Xiamen University. His research project focuses on a comparative analysis of information search and management behavior during simultaneous interpreting preparation by comparing terminological tools vs traditional methods. The project aims at conducting an empirical, contrastive study on ad-hoc terminological tools vs traditional methods so as to identify their impact on the quality of simultaneous interpreting. The data-elicitation techniques used in the project will possibly include eye-tracking, keystroke logging, and screen recording. He is a member of the organising committee of the 3rd International Conference on Translation, Interpreting & Cognition.
